COLLECTION Budureasca Classic wines are fresh, aromatic and have an excellent price-quality ratio. They can be enjoyed at home, with family, with friends, or on special occasions, being a combination of tradition and modernity. The name Budureasca is strongly anchored in the history of Romanians. Near the Budureasca vineyards, thousands of years old Dacian vestiges were discovered, which attest to the Dacians’ passion for cultivating vines.
VARIETY Feteasca Regală is a popular Romanian variety grown in vineyards throughout the country’s wine-growing regions, especially in Dealu Mare and Transylvania. Discovered after 1920, it is part of the semi-aromatic variety category, giving rise to medium-bodied white wines with aromas such as wildflowers, peach, green apple, pear or tropical fruits. The tannins in the grape skins give complexity to the wines, which have good aging potential.
TERROIR For this wine, we used grapes harvested from plots in the mid-altitude area of the plantation, rich in chernozem, clay and gravel soils. The year 2023 was a good one in the vineyard, with no production losses associated with natural causes, so the grape production was in the average of previous years. The quality of the grapes was also very good, with a sufficient level of natural sugars and good acidity accumulated in the fruit, which allowed us to obtain fruity and aromatic wines.
WINEMAKING DETAILS At the winery, the noble Fetească Regală grapes were carefully sorted, destemmed and then pressed directly, without maceration on the skins. The must was left to clear, and then the wine was fermented for 14 days in stainless steel tanks with dedicated white wine yeasts at a controlled temperature of 16°C. To maintain the freshness and fruity character typical of the variety, this wine had no contact with oak wood.
