COLLECTION The Noble story begins in 2011, with the launch of Noble Five, and continues in 2017 with Noble White. The collection is the brainchild of oenologist Stephen Donnelly, who dreamed of creating two high-class blends, using the noblest grape varieties from the most valuable plots of the Budureasca vineyards. From their first edition to today, Noble wines continue to impress juries at the most prestigious competitions in the world.

VARIETY Within the royal family that is the Noble Five, Cabernet Sauvignon occupies the role of the Imposing King, with its bold tannins and spicy notes. Pinot Noir is the Queen, with a bouquet of wild berries and soft, velvety tannins. Merlot represents the Elder Prince, with personality and a long, pleasant finish. Shiraz, on the other hand, is the Young Prince, with lively aromas of blackcurrant and pepper. And Feteasca Neagră can only be the Princess: charismatic, delicate and elegant.

TERROIR Produced in the 2020 vintage, this signature blend of Budureasca Winery is the result of a long and complex process that begins with the manual harvesting of five representative varieties of black grapes from the best plots of our vineyards. These unique vines are arranged on terraces at altitudes of 350-400 meters, where the limestone soil is rich in calciferous sediments, and the microclimate ensures an impressive day-night thermal exchange.

WINEMAKING DETAILS The vinification was carried out separately according to the specificity of each variety. The must was cold macerated on the skins for over 20 days, and the wines were matured in French and Romanian oak barrels for a minimum of 12 months. The barrels were then inspected by oenologist Stephen Donnelly himself, who chose the best to compose the Noble Five. It took several more months of trials to establish the exact percentage of the five varieties, so as to achieve the perfect balance between structure and aromas.
