One of Dracula’s lovers, Bright Maiden was young and innocent like an angel descended to earth. Her kindness and selfless nature captivated the Dark Count of Transylvania, who seduced her into a romantic affair that ended her life.

From the mists of the castle, where Dracula has exercised his irresistible power for centuries, the story of The Dark Count of Transylvania & Maidens of Transylvania collections is born. Is the Count a creature of darkness or just a misunderstood noble doomed to eternal suffering? This is the enigma that Dracula’s girlfriends themselves try to answer, attracted by the Count’s seductive and mysterious personality.

Feteasca Albă is a traditional Romanian variety also known as Bright Maiden, due to its small, spherical and bright berries. In the Budureasca vineyards, the plots with Fetească Albă from which we obtain this wine are located in the northern area of the plantation. They are arranged on terraces and have a soil consisting of chernozem, sand, gravel and limestone, ensuring the good development of the grapes.

In the Budureasca vineyards we benefit from the climate and soil factors necessary to produce a Feteasca Albă full of aromas, the grapes reaching the desired maturity in the first half of September. The 2020 harvest was influenced by extreme temperatures, with periods of frost recorded in spring and autumn. At the country level, Romania had a small increase in grape production compared to the average of the previous five years, although, strictly compared to 2018, production decreased by 4%.

For the vinification of this wine, we picked the healthiest bunches from terraced plots located in the north of the plantation. After sorting and de-stemming the grapes, they were crushed by applying gentle pressure. The resulting wort fermented at low temperatures of 14°C for about two weeks. The liqueur was left to sit on specially selected yeasts, so that the final structure of the wine would gain more complexity and vigor.
