Pinot Noir is not the easiest grape to grow. Still, Dealu Mare is one of the few regions in Europe with the potential to produce high-quality wines from this variety. In time, the Pinot Noir grapes got well-adapted to the climate and soil found in Budureasca vineyards. They are usually among the first ones that get harvested. 2018 was favorable for Pinot Noir grapes, which extracted a lot of color and aromatic intensity. The fermentation took place at 28-30°C for two weeks and some of the wine was matured in French and American oak barrels giving it good potential for bottle aging.

Tasting Notes

Ruby-red color, with consistent aromas of black cherries and currants and a delicate note of spices. Complex taste of black cherries, with fine and well-integrated tannins. The oak aromas give this wine a long and pleasant finish.

We recommend serving this wine with pork, lamb chops, beef burgers, meatballs, and pasta with rich sauces.
